- BoltAI puts a model one shortcut away in any app, with an Instant Chat overlay and AI Workflows that rewrite selected text in place.

- It connects to a long list of cloud providers on your own keys, and to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot subscriptions through their CLIs.
- It runs on Intel Macs as well as Apple Silicon, from macOS 13.5.
- Projects, forked chats and side-by-side multi-model chats keep long work in order.
Switching from BoltAI
01
Install ToolPiper
Free, with no account. It runs on Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 26 or later.
02
Adopt the models you have
BoltAI reads local models from Ollama or LM Studio. ToolPiper finds those libraries and asks once to adopt them. Each GGUF is hardlinked into its own store, so nothing is copied or downloaded again.
03
Point your apps at it
Apps that speak the OpenAI API work with ToolPiper's local OpenAI-compatible API, and MCP clients such as Claude Code and Cursor connect to its MCP server.
